The past, my life.

"I am fading away. Slowly but surely. Like the sailor who watches the home shore gradually disappear, I watch my past recede. My old life still burns within me, but more and more of it is reduced to the ashes of memory."
excerpt from The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby

  2. I know this so well. But I don't let myself fade, I can't, or I'll be but dust in the wind. Oh, you are wonderful, I hope you know. x

  3. I really like this.

I think We are all fading away into the horizon of time. Watching our most cherished moment dim in the setting sun of time,
and become a memory that reminds us that good moments still exist. They our are oasis in a life filled with the
    mundane and forgettable.

  4. Beautiful quote. I never read the book but I saw the movie and it really touched me. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be trapped in your own body, feeling your memories slip away, without any way to retrieve them...

  6. Can't we have the memory of the past and the dream of the future and the solitude of the presents altogether? It is a wise quote yet it is never easy to do...
